I like Dorothy Parker, and my favourite of her pieces is The Red Dress. You simply must hear it as read by Dorothy herself. By the time of that recording, she's got the voice of a 60something dying woman who had spent her life on men, booze and cigarettes. That's how it was meant to be heard.
